Everton appears to have failed to announce that Idrissa Gana Gueye had signed a new contract to remain at Goodison Park and fans were confused about the whole situation.
The Senegal international had reportedly signed a new deal to extend his stay at the club on October 26, 2017, however, there has been no official confirmation from the Toffees.
It is believed Gueye has committed his future by signing a contract until July 2022, whilst his previous deal would have kept him at the club until 2020.
The date of the alleged new deal makes for interesting reading, as it is just a number of days after Ronald Koeman was fired from his position at Everton, whilst David Unsworth had eluded to a new deal being on the table for the midfielder.
However, there were no formal notices to have come out of the Merseyside outfit, which has confused fans and led to many of them leaving their reactions on Twitter.
A number of them were angry with the lack of an announcement whilst others took to the social media site to confirm that their own club was a joke and were not completely surprised.
