Cody Gakpo returned to Liverpool training on Thursday to give Jurgen Klopp's team a significant boost ahead of Saturday's derby match against Everton.

The Netherlands international missed his team's last two matches before the international period after he went off with a knee injury against Tottenham. The 24-year-old was subsequently left out of the Netherlands squad that lost 2-1 to France and beat Greece 1-0 in Euro 2024 qualifying over the last week.

After three weeks out, however, the winger returned to training with his Reds team-mates on Thursday.
His availability for the Merseyside derby match against Everton will delight Jurgen Klopp given the Liverpool boss will be without the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Andy Robertson for the match at Anfield due to injury, while Curtis Jones is still suspended.
